August Reder, Sr.

August Reder, Sr. was the father of Father Michael Reder and was identified on Father Michael's baptism certificate along with his mother, Emilia.

The little we know about him comes from the baptism certificate and searches for the matching family information on census reports.

He was born about 1855 or 1856 in New York to parents (names unknown) who were from Germany. He was a Printer, by trade.

August and Emilia had three children, Frank, Anna, and August, Jr., who we knew as Father Michael.

According to Father Michael, his father was killed by a runaway horse when Michael was 13, which would have been in 1910.
