John Kappert

John Kappert was born in Essen, Germany on November 21, 1880. Some time between then and 1883, he emigrated (presumably with his parents) to the United States and settled in Pittsburgh, PA.

John married a woman named Theresa, who was born in Pittsburgh in 1883, and together they had 9 children: Marie (1905), Joseph (1906), Martin (1907), Henry (1910), Theresa (1913), Lawrence (1915), Mildred (1917), Francis (1921), and Clara (1925).

On his draft card in 1918, he is listed as a laborer in a Brewery, and by 1930, he is working in a lumber yard. His World War II draft card lists his address as 408 Walnut Street, Mount Oliver, Pittsburgh, PA.

John died in Pittsburgh on June 20, 1958.
