Michael Catterton was born in Calvert, Maryland, married a woman named Dilah, and according to OneWorld had 7 children, Sarah (1755), Elizabeth (1757), Mary (1759), Michael (February 8, 1761), Frances (1762), Gattewood (1763), and William (1765). OneWorld gives his date of birth as 1674, but this is probably an error, since it would have him fathering all of his children from the age of 81 through 91 and living to the age of 108. It is more likely he was born in the early 1700's.

He died on May 2, 1782, in Calvert, Maryland.
