Margaret Marion Schmitt (Meg) was the daughter of William Jude Schmitt and Janet Patricia Hurley, the granddaughter of William August Schmitt and Marguerite Agatha Brierton, the granddaughter of John Patrick Hurley, Jr and Margaret Myrtle Kappert, the great granddaughter of Willian Schmitt and Margaret Dielhl, the great granddaughter of Harry Joseph Brierton, Sr. and Margaret Jane McAnn, the great granddaughter of Franz Carl Kappert and Charlotte Schaeffer, the great granddaughter of John Patrick Hurley, Jr. and Mildred Ellen Ancel, the great great granddaughter of of Stephen Schmitt and Amelia, the great great granddaughter of James Paul McAnn and Margaret Kiellian, the great great granddaughter of James Brierton and Anna Corr, the the great great granddaughter of Michael Hurley, Sr. and a woman named O'Leary, and the great great granddaughter of Vladistok Schefshuga and Maria Trost. She was born in Hempstead, New York, and grew up in Hempstead and West Hempstead, New York, attending St. Thomas the Apostle Elementary School, and Sacred Heart Academy in Hempstead, New York. After graduating from High School, she attended and graduated from Fairfield University, in Fairfield, CT, with a degree in Finance. After graduating from college, she worked for a time for First Chicago as an internal auditor and then began her own company, called PCBasics, where she supplied assistance with computers to the home market, marketing her services through her own website and local postings. Early in 1999, Meg was diagnosed with a particularly aggressive form of Leukemia and spent the next year in hospitals and related facilities and, briefly, at her the home of her parents, fighting the desease. She died at Calvary Hospital on January 31, 2000 and is buried at Holy Rood Cemetery in East Meadow, New York. |
